Lesson 3- First Trimester Symtpoms

The biggest problem with the first trimester is usually frequent urination, mood swings, and morning sickness. Usually this is the worst of all the trimesters as far as how you feel.

Anyways morning sickness can last all day, can strike at any time of the day and just about every other time you can think of. Usually it comes from around week six and lasts till week 12ish.

Unfortunately for many women it can last the whole pregnancy but this is uncommon. Your doctor can give you extra vitamin B for the nausea. If there is still a problem and you are losing weight they may prescribe something for you.

A common home remedy for morning sickness is ginger. Either actually sucking on a ginger root or getting it in some form of candy such as the preggy pops, usually sold at Motherhood Stores, can work. Another thing to do is eat a cracker or two before getting out of bed in the morning, this puts something in your stomach before you start moving around.

As for the frequent urination, make sure you get enough to drink and go to the bathroom when you feel like you need to go, not following either of these rules can cause you to have contractions. Though this is more likely to occur next trimester, than the first.

And for the mood swings, they come and go during the whole pregnancy. Just try your best to realize it is the hormones, and you will be fine.

Till next time...
